HONDURAS
Mr. Smile.
"I was told that Honduran customs would be complicated. So I prepared myself to escape the money changers who would do anything for a few dollars in tip."
Between a photocopy and another, a document to be filled in and another, he was there. In one hand, a calculator, in the other, a handful of US dollars. It wasn't pushy, it just said, "Dollars? Want to change dollars?"
I noticed he was smiling all the time. So I asked him why he was so happy.
"Because I have the money", he replied promptly, perhaps not to remember the 15, maybe 16 hours of work a day to provide some support for his family. That's how I started to smile more.
